Environmental problems related to the technocratic development path chosen by humankind have become crucial in the last quarter of the 20th century. The modern power of earth civilization follows logically from the industrial technology development.
Plants, factories, and power stations transform nature just like the other living organisms do. Therefore, the planet has less and less fertile land left, but more and more slag, ash, and waste heaps instead. Acid rain, smog, increased radiation levels, and ozone depletion are inevitable.
It is only possible to slow down the process of nature and biosphere transformation, but it cannot be stopped. Our civilization is rapidly moving towards the point of no return. And now the time has come when it’s no longer possible to ignore the danger in which the world finds itself in. Therefore, for more than half a century, humanity has been looking for a possible way that would allow to direct the vector of industrial development into space.
